Good news for Republican candidate for Pennsylvania Governor, Lynn Swann as he, according to the article from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is all but assured his party's endorsement for Governor after defeating former Lt. Governor Bill Scranton in a vote by southwestern Pennsylvania GOP leaders. This is not good news for Scranton, who was hoping to slow down the Swann campaign. A third candidate, Jim Panyard, was not actively seeking the GOP endorsement.
