Political News--February 14

What once seemed to be a bright future in politics for Paul Hackett now looks like a distant memory. The Ohio Democrat dropped his bid for the Democratic nomination for US Senate citing party pressure as his reason. He also stated that he would not seek the CD-2 seat that he narrowly lost to Republican Jean Schmidt. An interesting look into party politics can be found here.

Political News--February 3

According to Rasmussen Reports, if the election for Nevada Governor were held today, Republican Congressman Jim Gibbons would defeat his two main Democratic rivals. Gibbons bests Henderson Mayor Jim Gibson 43-38% and State Senator Dina Titus, 46-41%. Poll numbers were not given for intraparty competition between Gibson and Titus or Gibbons and his two main Republican rivals, Lorraine Hunt and Bob Beers.
